Community Partners Provide Vital Health Information
July 9, 2020
Over 150 people participated in Temecula Valley Hospital’s (TVH) first Drive-thru Health Fair on June 24, 2020, which took place in the hospital parking lot along the perimeter of the building. The event was free to the community and attendees participated entirely from the socially distant safety of their vehicles. Drivers pulled up and followed a map to the different stations along the health fair route.
Attendees were able to get health information and participate in free giveaways from a variety of community partners, who had vendor booths along the route. These community partners included:
- Anthem Blue Cross
- The city of Temecula
- Rancho Family Medical Group
- The Foundation for Senior Care
- Picasso Dental
- Riverside Public Health
- Bang Energy Drinks
- A+ Urgent Care
- Southwest Healthcare
- Michelle’s Place
- Highgate Senior Living Temecula
- Encompass Health
- The American Heart Association®
- Jacob’s House
TVH ran its own information booth, which provided educational material on stroke and heart attack awareness, Ask a Nurse health questions and details on total joint surgeries. The hospital also had a screening area where clinical team members provided blood pressure and glucose tests.
“We have been greatly touched by the community support of our healthcare team over the past several months,” said Darlene Wetton, CEO of TVH. “We are indebted for all the kindness we have received, and it’s time we give back to the community we proudly serve. Our Drive-thru Health Fair was a small way of saying thank you for everything.”
