NAMI Temecula Valley presents the NAMI Family-to-Family class, an open community event and speaker series is a free, eight-session, evidenced-based program for the family, significant others and friends of adults living with a mental health condition, taught by NAMI-trained family members who have been there. Refreshments will be provided.
NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of people affected by mental illness.
The Family-to-Family Class
The Family-to-Family class series provides information and strategies for taking care of the person you love who struggles with mental health challenges. This class setting provides mutual support and shared positive impact-experiences, compassion and reinforcement from people who understand your situation. Learn about mental health conditions, the effects on the brain, various treatments, supportive services and effective ways to solve problems, handle crisis, communicate and support your loved one with compassion. The class also offers several strategies and healthy ways to manage stress and balance personal self-care. With knowledge and support, there is hope in one’s journey on their road to recovery.
